✦ Getting to Port Everglades via Public Transportation
Metro Shuttle Service costs $8 to $15 per person for the ride from FLL to Port Everglades, depending on the number of people in your group. The more people on your reservation, the lower your per person rate. Farther away but still accessible are Miami International, just under 30 miles south, and Palm Beach International (PBI), which is 50 miles north. If you're traveling to Miami, look for flights on American, Delta, Frontier, Sun Country and United. From Palm Beach, fly Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southern Airways Express, Southwest, Spirit and United.
Port Parking
Each terminal has a nearby parking area, typically a garage (Palm or Heron). Enjoy a post-cruise or pre-cruise stay in one of the many Fort Lauderdale hotels before or after your vacation. Stay at resort-like Port Everglades hotels near the terminals because the options are plentiful. Our favorite brand of hotels is Marriott because they offer the best perks for loyalty, including room upgrades depending on your loyalty level and free wi-fi for all Marriott Bonvoy guests. We also find their customer service to be the best out of any hotels we stay at time and again. Port Everglades, in Florida's Fort Lauderdale, is one of the country's major gateways to cruise vacations -- only Port of Miami and Port Canaveral are busier.

A free shuttle service is provided between Cruise Terminal 29 and the Palm Parking Garage. A 600-space surface parking lot is located outside terminal 18, while parking lot 19 provides 400 surface parking spaces between terminals 18 and 19. If you plan to stay a night in the area, you can take an Uber or taxi to Fort Lauderdale and select a hotel that offers a shuttle to the port. Miami to Fort Lauderdale ShuttlesIn addition to the cruise line shuttles, there are independent shuttles that can get you to and from Port Everglades and the Miami airport. They can be cheaper than the cruise line transfers, but if traveling with more than one person, a rideshare still comes out on top. Cruise line transfers offer convenience, but we also find they can be expensive and restrictive.
You can park your car within walking distance of nearly all the terminals. Cruise terminals 2 and 4 share the 2,500-space Northport Garage, though a new 1,888-space parking garage is under construction to serve both terminals. Terminals 18 and 19 each have their own surface lots named after them; the Terminal 19 Parking Lot is shared between the two.
However, these are typically expensive compared to catching a cab or rideshare and charged on a per-person basis. At that price, you could get a ride for up to four people in an Uber or taxi. Once inside the port, you’ll want to follow the signage to the appropriate cruise terminal for the ship. Keep in mind that there are a number of twists and turns in order to get around with so many terminals in a relatively small space. Meanwhile, if there are lots of ships in port, navigating can be stressful.
Similar to Fort Lauderdale's airport, pre-booked cruise line transfer shuttles are also often available for passengers if they are arriving on the same day their cruise departs. All parking facilities at Port Everglades offer day rates along with short-term parking. Port Everglades does not currently offer pre-payment or parking reservations.
